Donations:
As
is the tradition, all Patrons will be acknowledged in the St. Patricks
Ball programme, and will be invited to join the Fund Chair at the
Patrons reception held at the hotel just prior to the Ball.
Most importantly, Patrons have the satisfaction of knowing that 100% of the net revenues of the Patrons' Fund will be equally divided between two worthy organizations.
All donations will receive Income Tax Receipts.
The Benedict Labre House: The Benedict Labre House was established in Griffin Town in 1952 by Tony Walsh. The mission of the House is to provide essential services, food, clothes and a sense of belonging to those in need. The mix of guests now reflects the overall population of Montreal as to culture, ethnicity and language. They serve a regular group of over 500, consisting of men, women and even some family groups. They rely on volunteer groups to provide much of the essential services, either through donations or the preparation and serving of meals. The organization currently has in excess of 500 volunteers providing over 10,000 hours of service to the group.
Montreal Genearl Hospital Palliative Care Unit: The mission of The Montreal General Hospital Foundation is to support the MUHC Montreal General Hospital, established in 1821, in its pursuit of excellence in patient care, teaching and research. Donations will be directed to the Palliative Care Unit. This organization was dear to our Past President, Patrick Dunn, who volunteered in the Unit and who recently lost a courageous battle with cancer.
